What wood you do?
The people behind the TRUCK festival have given us WOOD as their contribution.

1 week before the festival we discovered that the rig we were suppopsed to power in the tree tent was rated at 5kW. Our calculations indicated that this is 62 bikes! Which left us 51 bikes short and a ,ot of work to do in 7 days. In reality, on testing the rig when we arrived on Thursday, it took just over 1kW of actual power. Just on the limit of a revolution.
After some debate with the organisers the decision was made not to try and power the beast, but instead to run our own smaller party and film tent. Luckily we had brought some wicked 1980s HH speakers kindly leant to us by Mike at Mullet Boy Studios in Cambridge. These monsters somehow only manage to draw 25W for each amp, beautifully efficiency, unlike todays energy wasting amps. Even the ITV Oxfrod news crew were impressed!

An early rise (ahem) on Saturday and some housekeeping and further sign drawing was underway before the bike powered debut of Bellevue Rendezvois.
Saturday night and another impromptu bike powered party. E-festival describes us as, the ” ‘Magnificent Revolution’ tent, with its sound system and lights powered by a row of bicycles, which are, surprisingly, an incredibly popular attraction at all hours of the day and night” SUPRISED! We wern’t……… Party people powering their own music. Beautiful!
Sunny sunday was a blinder and we took on our daytime role of providing child bike based entertainment at this family friendly fest. Taking those enthusiastic watts and using them to power some sunny sunday reggae!
Climate Change March After Party
Another week and another trip to the synergy center this time for the climate change march after party. This time we needed 10 bikes as we planned to power some films. After setting up the projector and the 3 bikes we had brought with us it was time for he party to begin, so we powered up some tunes while we hunted for some more bikes.
It proved more difficult to get hold the bikes than we had hoped, so we powered some live music, picked our favourate films and some classic festival footage provided by the big green gathering crew and muddled through with the power we had.
We learnt some hard lessons about bike availability and met some amazing people and a few some hard cyclists at this unique event. We’ll be having a rest from late night trips to London for a while however (oh, except for next week when we have two more gigs!)
Decompression
As night fell on the mill road winter fair we were off to our second gig of the day powering The Jelly Royale at the decompression party in London!
We arrived just in time to set up our kit before the party began at which point the crew had a rest and a beer and the jellies got themselves into some modified magnificent usherette outfits.

Setting Up - The Madness Unfolds!
We had some hard acts to follow! A fancy dress competition, some naked sushi (yes, naked people covered in sushi which is apparently very popular in Japan!) and a man swinging around near the ceiling attached by great meat hooks through his skin! As we found some willing cyclists and checked the kit was ready for action we wondered whether we could match all this madness.

Hungry?

The Jellies Discuss the Song Order for the Night
As the Jellies were sound checking some speakers, too energy hungry for us to power started to feedback. The sound booth had switched them on not really realising that we were off grid and making our own energy, barbora put them straight using her bike powered mike and directed the sound crew to “have a break and get yourselves a drink”.
Everyone got down had a dance and a cycle. We did it again!

Time to go Home
