Trip the light Fantastic by Jane Watt is an Alight commission by AIR (Archway Investigations and Responses) at Byam Shaw School of Art in partnership with the London Borough of Islington.

Alight is a long-term programme of ambitious, surprising and delightful temporary artworks that explore, reveal and animate Archway with light – a series of projects to animate dreary and neglected corners of Archway. Jane has been photographing local people dancing over the last year and is installing forty huge images in shop and office windows around Archway. She has also installed 3 pink spotlights in dark corners and over the next two months has programmed six public events in the spotlights – with local dancers coming to lead the events, ranging from street to tango.

Magnificent Revolution will join to provide pedal powered music for the performances. The third piece in the series is ‘Waking, Walking’ performance by London Butoh Asylum on Thursday February 4th 6.30, 7.00 and 7.30pm (end by 7.50pm).
