Pedal powered Belleville Rendez-Vous

Pedal powered Belleville Rendez-Vous

We teamed up with the London School of Economics union and the People & Planet society to put on the spectacular interactive Cycling Cinema. We’re proud to be screening at this university, especially during their environmental week. In 2009, LSE was named as the second greenest university in the UK in the People & Planet Green League published in Times Higher Education.

We will be screening Belleville Rendez-Vous – an idiosyncratic french animated film, about an old woman negotiating 1930′s New York in search of her kidnapped grandson with the help of a fat dog, a trio of washed-up flappers and an open-minded disposition. With widespread critical acclaim for its unique, retro style of animation, it was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. It was also screened out of competition at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.
