The last words on climate camp

We’re back from the fields and out of the shadow of the coal power station. Great friendships were formed behind the barricades of climate camp. Even though the police would try all they could: intimidation, lies and scaremongering, we left feeling positive. Positive, because there just may be a chance that we can stop Eon and our government from committing one of the biggest crimes against our environment. We all well know what were the consequences of industrial revolution. It’s not like it’s easy to forget while we’re being constantly reminded by shifting seasons, floods, hurricanes and disappearing wildlife.

Police floodlights reaching the site used more power then the whole camp. Helicopters, horses, vans, riot gear, 1400 police officers, and £3mil budget. All of that to stop 1500 relaxed and peaceful individuals that care about the future of this planet and humanity. There may have been a few exceptions but trust us, we were there! Surely we can’t be criminals for wanting our government, that is meant to represent us, to listen to us. Common sense must win this battle!

If you want to learn, be inspired, welcomed, touched by genuine acts, feel motivated, united, and positive then certainly do the climate camp in 2009. See you there in the pedal powered extravaganza tent.
