Bicycle Picnic

We were invited to put on a pedal powered cinema at the Sunday Cycle Picnic in London Fields. Curator from the BFI is putting together a programme of films that we’ll pedal power midday onwards till about 5pm. Ladies need a bit of encouragement to get on the two wheeled beasties and cycle picnic is creating an opportunity specifically for that. It’s a fact that more gents than ladies cycle. Cycling is often perceived as male dominated territory and it’s time for the ladies to end this tragic situation. We’ve come to help once more! Pedals at the Growing Kitchen

We were very honored by the invitation to take part in the finishing ceremony of the Growing Kitchen project. We went down to pedal power a film about the transformation of a disused lawn to a beautiful veg garden for local residents on one of Shoreditch’s estates. The film was lovely and we’ll embed it on our website as soon as we get our hands on it. The kids were loving the bikes as usual. Youngsters pedal powered their own tunes barely touching the pedals. At first we powered some music and then film rolled on as soon as the sun set. Hopefully, the Growing Kitchen is just a beginning of a series of transformation of spaces on estates to something useful that can be shared by the community. The atmosphere was amazing. People were sharing recipes and generally enjoying each others company. Congratulations to Grass Shoots on their success.
